Alumni, friends, and members of the University community celebrated the dedication of the new Julis Romo Rabinowitz Building on April 5, 2017. A reimagining of the venerable “Old Frick” Laboratory, the building was made possible by a gift from Mitchell R. Julis ’77 P19 and Joleen Romo Julis P19, and named in honor of their families.

The panel of experts included moderator Margaret Cannella ’73 of Columbia Business School; Suzanne Killea ’83 of Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group; David Boles ’81 of J.P. Morgan; and Stephen K. Shueh ’97 of Roundview Capital.

Dedication of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment

Alumni, friends, and members of the University community celebrated the new home of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment on May 18. The center has an urgent goal: to help transition the world away from fossil fuels through research and education that will produce the solutions essential to preserving the planet for future generations. It was made possible by a $100 million gift from Gerhard Andlinger '52. The center's primary lecture and gathering space, Maeder Hall, made possible by a gift from Paul Maeder ’75, was also dedicated during the celebration.

From nano-scale sensors to costume design, drosophila morphogenesis to opera, sea urchins to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Princeton’s first Research Day offered a mind-expanding view of work explored across campus. Undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers engaged visitors with ten-minute talks, 90-second pitches, performances, or poster presentations in Frist Campus Center May 5. The day—to become an annual event—showcased talented Princetonians who will be at the forefront of tomorrow’s scientific and creative endeavors.

Princeton Celebrates Professor Emeritus Edward C. Taylor

Faculty, alumni, and members of the University community gathered on April 5 to honor Edward C. "Ted" Taylor H10, the A. Barton Hepburn Professor in Organic Chemistry Emeritus, with a chemistry symposium, reception, and dinner. Professor Taylor recently strengthened teaching and research at Princeton by establishing the Edward and Virginia Taylor Professorship in Bioorganic Chemistry and the Edward C. Taylor Fellowships, which provide funding for third-year graduate students, a rarity in higher education.
