In a unique effort to combine the expertise of university scientists and conservation organizations, Louis Bacon’s Moore Charitable Foundation has pledged $1.25 million to establish the Science-to-Action Fund at Princeton University. The fund will support environmental research that advances scientific understanding and practical, on-the-ground solutions in order to ensure the sustainable and rational use of freshwater for all.
Tim McGowan, who comes to Princeton University from Columbia University with more than 25 years of experience on Madison Avenue, has been named assistant vice president for strategic donor engagement in Princeton's Office of Development. His appointment is effective Jan. 18.
Alison Sommers-Sayre, an 11-year member of the Princeton University Office of Development staff, has been promoted to assistant vice president for information strategy and operations. Her appointment was effective July 1.
Kevin Heaney, who has worked in fundraising leadership positions for nearly 20 years, has been named deputy vice president for development at Princeton University. His appointment is effective March 9.
Rochelle Makela-Goodman, a fundraising professional with 19 years of development experience, has joined the Princeton University Office of Development as director of gift planning.
